When
selecting new appliances for their home, if our customers are adamant
about one thing, then it is on the heat source for the cooktop ' either
gas or electric. We understand. Not only is it what you are accustomed
to, but both surface types have their own specific advantages. Regardless
of heat type, one necessary feature that everyone agrees on is performance.
We understand that too, and therefore, the products featured in the extensive
Miele cooktop selection ' both gas and electric ' are designed to perform
to your highest expectations. After all, having the sizzle doesn't mean
you can't have the steak too.
Gas Cooktops Powerful Performance, Unique Design
The responsiveness afforded by a Miele gas cooktop is only matched by
the product's performance. Equipped with two super burners, the 36 and
42 inch units have a significant heat output. The KM 342, for example,
has a combined 60,000 BTUs of power. The super burners are conveniently
located in the front right and left of the cooktop, making wok stir-fry,
pan saut'ing or just big pot cooking practical and safe.
Finesse as Well
Cooking with gas is not always about the power; control is essential too.
Operating at a low heat output is often as important as a high power setting,
and all Miele units allow you to do that. The KM 342 and KM 344 cooktops
will regulate as low as 620 BTUs. To minimize the heat further still,
a Simmer Plate ensures excess heat is diverted away from the pan.
Piece
of Mind
Sometimes, gas cooktops can go out when you don't want them to. Miele
has solved this worry with its unique re-ignition system. This solution
combines the speed and reliability of automatic re-ignition with the flexibility
of thermocouple protection. If a flame goes out for any reason, re-ignition
is initiated. Should the flame not re-light, the system shuts down the
flow of gas, ensuring optimal safety. The cooktop is watching out for
itself, giving you one less thing to worry about.
Grate Choices Colors and Combinations
Miele's collection of gas cooking surfaces represent powerful performance
with a design that allows you to choose the right look for your kitchen
environment. On select models, the same cooktop can come either with the
contemporary linear or classic round grates. The final look is completely
different, that's why we leave the choice up to you.
Select cooktops are available in stainless steel, black and white. To
customize the look even further, you can also change our standard knob
selection to fit your design needs. For example, the black surface unit
takes on a unique elegance with the addition of stainless steel knobs.
Similarly, a stainless surface with black controls assumes a more commercial
look.
Both the black and white surfaces are enameled for maximum protection
against scratching and corrosion.
